"Works great with PSP and PS3." 2009-12-08

By damagedCONTROL (Tampa, FL)

Needed an upgrade to a larger PSP Memory Stick so I purchased this one. The 4.0 GB works perfectly with PSP and PS3 for game files or saves.

 "Worked Just As Expected" 2009-10-03

By J. Palmer

I recently bought a Memory Stick Pro Duo from sony company and decided to get another one. Through some friends I got a suggestion to go with a sandisk card so I did. This card works faster and cost less than the sony one. It's a great deal that I would recommend to anyone trying to get a good deal on a Memory Stick Pro Duo.

 "Excellent" 2008-10-30
By Randy (U S A)
It's been more than a month now that I bought this memory stick for my psp slim. It works great!! There's not much to say.... i mean; computers detect it ezly, it loads fast,... I just dont see the use of getting one more expendsive for there is no difference [except the bigger pain in ur pocket]. Getting one more expendsive is buying the mark only..and remember that it will always be hidden inside ur device.

Admittedly the color is distinct at best, ridiculous at worst. But who cares if its hardly displayed anyway?

I'll recomend this to all.

 "Excelent MS Pro Duo" 2008-09-08
By Francisco Romano
I tried a few MS's for my psp and a cousin's psp.

Had a few problems with fake MS ( they work on cameras and cellphones but don't work right on a psp) and this sandisk worked fine.

I have about 5 different MS, and i recommend this one.

"Trouble with copying files to PSP - waste of money" 2008-09-02
By Coconut Creek Christine (Coconut Creek, FL)
I bought this product for my son's new PSP and thought I was getting a great deal. The price for this 4gb was the same as the store price of a 2gb and I intended on storing movies on it for my son. Unfortunately, when I tried to copy even small 1mb pictures to the PSP, the screen would lock up and give me all sorts of errors. I tried to copy all sorts of files and success was hit or miss. After a week, I gave up and bought a 2gb at the store. I have not had a single problem with the 2gb and have been able to copy full 2hour movies quickly and without error. This 4gb was a total waste of money and time.

 "The Real Deal" 2009-08-07
By B. Glesener (San Clemente, CA)
After buying what was touted as being a genuine memory stick pro and discovering that not only was it not an actual Sony Memory Stick Pro, it didn't work at all. I checked all the sites selling them and found that Amazon had the best price and the "real deal". I paid the money (yes, it's high) and got exactly what I paid for . . . a genuine, fully functional, 16gig stick that worked immediately and continues to perform. I have full use of my camera and tons of memory, so I can take more pictures and movies because of the Memory Stick Pro. I love it because it works and I don't have to think about it. Put it in, take pics or videos, pull it out, upload to computer and its all good. I encourage buyers to NOT try the cheaper ones, as they will most likely not be the genuine article, won't work well, or at all, and frustrate the heck out of you. Buy the genuine article and you'll be worry-free and a happy camper.

 "Great product!" 2009-08-04
By B. Shokati (Los Angeles, CA, USA)
It is just what I wanted. Works fine with my PSP. Actual space is around 7600MB.

 "Best price" 2009-07-28
By E. Plaga
Nice capacity. Works well with sony camcorder. Many dollars less than other sites or stores offered. Reputable brand name. I just slipped it in and took video. Very happy. Paid the same as my friend who purchased a 4 gb version at a store. Great buy.

 "Slow" 2009-07-14
By L. Ma (Boston, MA USA)
Got this for my PSP. I guess the memory stick will be okay for a camera, but the transfer rate for the stick is very slow. From 1.5-2.3 Mb per Second. Save some money for a black marque 2, which transfers at 6-10 Mb per Second. You may think I am really picky and impatient, but when transferring my music library to my PSP, I do not want to wait 30-40 minutes.

However, I give this product 2 stars because it definitely works great for my camera. However if you are using this for you video recorder or psp, invest in a better memory stick and you will be doing yourself a great favor.

"SanDisk 8GB Memory Stick PRODuo" 2009-07-13
By Wayne Alexander (Jacksonville, FL USA)
This product is very reliable and performs to it's highest capability. If using in a digital camera, the results of pictures and videos taken are remarkable. Data storage capacity is great in comparison to the price of the product and those of similar products. I would definitely recommend this product to anyone who is looking to purchase a memory card for their device that is compatible with this product.

This card actually has 8gb of storage unlike the much of the junk cards sold on Ebay. I've heard of a number of horror stories from people buying these cards from Hong Kong on Ebay. If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.

 "Fake Memory Card" 2009-06-03
By Henry Nguyen
Do not get this product from this company, it ended up being not working and not authentic. Save yourself trouble and get it from a retail store.

 "Potential Fake" 2009-05-06
By Esper (USA)
Well, there really is no such thing as a cheap 8GB memory stick. Considering that competitor retailers sell these for $60, it should've been a red flag when this was roughly $30. It worked fine for a few days and then my camera stopped reading the card.

And here's why:

The shape and the thickness of the card didn't fit the same way into my camera like the legitimate brand. The camera reads it when I push it in just the right way and far enough, but I have to keep my thumb pressed into the card, without letting go, or the camera doesn't read the card properly. Granted, I can still use it as a storage device with a usb adapter...but am unable to take pictures with it.

"A great way to save tons of content on your PSP or Sony Camcorder!" 2009-04-25
By Poe the Ghost (Inside the great Deku Tree)
The Sony Memory Stick Pro Duo is a great way to save tons of content on your Sony Playstation Portable or Sony Camcorder.

Not to be confused with an SD Memory Card, Memory Stick Pro Duo only work in Sony-brand products.

If you're a PSP owner looking for a Memory Stick for the soul purpose of saving game data, this is not what you're looking for, I'd recommend a smaller 1 or 2GB Memory Stick for that, because they're much cheaper, and 8GB is likely WAY more than you'll ever need to save games. Since gave saves only take up KiloBytes, 8 GigaBytes is pure Overkill.

An 8GB Memory Stick is best suited for PSP owners with Custom Firmware or download alot of games & movies off of PlayStation Network.

In addition, an 8GB Memory Stick makes for a nice form of alternative storage for Sony Camcorder owners. Depending on what resolution you have the camcorder set to 8GB's can store a pretty decent amount of video, and is much easier to store than your common 1.4GB Mini DVD-R.

Of course, Memory Stick Pro Duo isn't the cheapest form of Flash Storage, it's cousin the SD Memory Card is much cheaper in price, as are Flash Drives & DVD's, so you should only buy an 8GB Memory Stick Pro Duo for Sony-Brand electronics that you absolutely NEED such a large amount of storage space for.

Otherwise, it's better to buy a smaller, cheaper Memory Stick, or use another form of Flash Storage.

Most Sony products like their Digital Cameras & PSP only use Memory Stick Pro Duo, so you have no choice.

But if you're trying to do something like free up some space or move content on your PS3, Computer, etc, then it's better to go with something cheaper like Flash Drives or SD Cards.

"Great product...until it stopped working (plus possible solution to restore photos)" 2009-07-06
By VG
I purchased this with my new Sony Cybershot after hearing SanDisk was a reliable brand and seeing these were MUCH cheaper than the ones made by Sony.

For a month and a half this memory stick worked great and had no problems with it taking it on my various summer trips. Then one day when I was touring Boston (having already taken a few pictures successfully that day), I turn on my camera and suddenly see it blink "Reinsert memory stick". I do that, remove the camera battery, etc to no avail. I get home, plug it into my memory stick reader and it tells me my disk needs to be formatted. I was a little hesitant to do this since I was afraid this would wipe ALL my photos for good so I googled around.

I ran into a program called Photorescue (http://www.datarescue.com/photorescue/v3/index.htm) which claimed it could recover photos off a corrupted stick. The program itself costs $29 but you are allowed to download a free demo which will give you a thumbnail preview of all the photos it can recover. If you are satisfied with the results, you can then buy a product key off their website to get the full quality images stored on your computer hard drive. For me the program was able to restore all my photos including one video I took with my camera.

I am very thankful Photorescue came to my rescue (pun intended) but I'm at a loss how this problem happened. I am not sure if the memory stick is faulty or if my camera somehow messed it up. Hopefully this may help someone out in the future if they find their priceless photos seemingly lost forever. Either way I will definitely be backing up my photos on a nightly basis now!

"Cheap memory, but beware the HD rating" 2009-06-26
By J. Myerberg (Boston, MA)
It is not obvious, but this memory stick is HD format, so it will not work in all SD readers. I found that out the hard way.
